Campaign for Woodlawn….building our community event center
Part of the Black Family homestead included a large barn for horses, cows, chickens, hay, and carriages. After being reduced in size in the 1940s, the barn was declared unsafe in 2017 and removed in 2020.  The campaign to build a multi-purpose facility on the footprint of the original and as a visual echo was initiated in 2014.  With incredible support from the community, the Woodlawn Barn will be opening in the fall of 2023.  But there is still fundraising to be done!

Campaign Goals
The Campaign for Woodlawn goals include:

1. Build a Barn that offers year round space for student programs, exhibits, events, and public programs.
2. Improve the landscape to facilitate increased use.
3. Increase Woodlawn’s endowment to support expanded activities and community access.
