It's George Nixon's Black's 184th birthday! Celebrate with us while learning about his life and visit the house he gave to become a museum to honor his family.
The House at Lobster Cove by Jane Goodrich, tells a wonderful story about George Nixon Black Jr. and the journey of his life. But how does this fictional tale compare to the man who donated Woodlawn to the Hancock County Trustees of Public Reservations?
We will discuss the book, go behind the ropes of the Black House Museum, and enjoy some light refreshments (including birthday cupcakes) all while learning more about the life of George Nixon Black Jr.
You'll leave with lots of new information for when you re-read the book!
