Still Life: Color and Composition with Philip Frey 2-day Workshop

When: This workshop is 2-days. Friday, March 13 and Saturday March 14 from 9AM-3PM both days.

Class Description: This dynamic painting workshop with professional artist and instructor, Philip Frey, will focus on the art of still life. To help us create fresh, compelling, and successful paintings, we will utilize preparatory sketches to establish harmonious compositions and make color palette choices based on specific color contrasts. The still life is an ideal genre because we are painting from direct perception as well as  learning to control all the elements—the objects, environment, and lighting—to our advantage.

Each day will include short lectures, demonstrations, and lessons based on harmonic composition, color contrasts (strategies), and paint handling.
