Science Saturday: Insects

Join Maine Master Naturalist Grace Bartlett for an all-ages exploration of the fascinating world of insects at Woodlawn!

During this guided walk around the grounds, participants will learn what makes an insect an insect while searching for both terrestrial and aquatic species. We will look under bark, turn over rocks, dip into the pond for aquatic insects, and observe which insects visit different flowers — and why.

As an added activity, participants will also examine insect galls and learn about the incredible ways insects adapt to life in Maine, including migration and diapause.

This hands-on program is perfect for curious nature lovers of all ages!
