Time & Location

May 08, 2024, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Woodlawn, 19 Black House Dr, Ellsworth, ME 04605, USA

About the event

For years Leslie Clapp has monitored bird houses at various properties on the Blue Hill Peninsula. She and her husband, Blaise deSibour, have been instrumental in expanding Downeast Audubon’s county-wide Bluebird Trail which now includes 480 houses in 134 locations, including here at Woodlawn.

Learn all about attracting bluebirds and other cavity-nesters to your yard.  What house designs work best?  Are there potential problems to watch out for? See what it’s like to monitor bird houses from the nest-building stage to fledging young.  This program is filled with beautiful photographs and is a great way to welcome spring, even if you’re not ready to put up your own bird houses yet.  Helpful handouts will be available.

Space is limited. The science lecture series is sponsored by The Jackson Labratory.
