About the event
This event is currently FULL.
Shy citizens of a distant kingdom, mushrooms surprise and delight us with their diversity and often bizarre morphology. Though secretive and mostly out of view, the world of mushrooms and other fungi is richly inhabited by organisms that are essential to the well-being and balance of the world. Through decomposition and connectivity, mushrooms are the ultimate recyclers in the biosphere.
On our walk on the Woodlawn trails, we will see diverse fall mushrooms and cover the basics of mushroom identification, but also, we will observe the often-overlooked signs of significant activities of mushrooms and other fungi and how they contribute to the ecology of the Maine forest.
Space is limited. All ages welcome. Rain or shine.
You will receive an email about a week before the event with additional details.
