About the event
Join Wild Seed Project at The Woodlawns for a one-day professional development intensive for K-12 teachers to increase skills and comfort for outdoor teaching. The program will be facilitated by Nell Houde, the Wild Seed Project Educational Programs Manager.Â
Over the course of the day we will guide teachers through lessons about decolonizing the language of environmental education, building safety and belonging in the natural world, fostering relationships with Maine's flora and fauna, and building experiential ecology lessons into an already existing curriculum.Â
By the end of the training, educators should feel equipped with expanded language to describe place-based relationships, ideas and resources for building outdoor education spaces at their schools, new curriculum to try, and some plant identification skills!
Contact hours can be earned for this workshop.
Additional information will be sent via email about 1 week before the event. If you have any questions please reach out to kelly.lunt@woodlawnellsworth.orgÂ
