Tamarack
(Larix laricina)

  • Coniferous

  • Height: 50-60 feet

  • Bark: reddish brown scales

  • Leaves: about 1 inch long needles, triangular and clustered

  • Cones: 3/4 inch long and spherical

  • Also called the hackmatack

  • Only native conifer that sheds all its leaves in the Fall
